Boys Volleyball: Strong stretches help Larkin topple Elgin
Larkin defeated crosstown rival Elgin in straight sets 25-13 and 25-10 as it began what it hopes will be a long postseason run with a convincing win in opening-round action at the Larkin Regional. The Royals move on to face No. 2 Lake Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Boys Track: Bartlett wins first sectional crown
As the Class 3A St. Charles North Sectional track meet concluded Friday night, state qualifiers from Elgin School District U-46 teams all posed together for parents to take a group photo. They really needed a wide-angle lens for this one, as U-46 athletes turned back the clock to a time when they were dominant in sprints all over the track. They earned 14 state meet berths total. Of course, it helped having the powerhouse of the meet within their district — the Bartlett Hawks — the sectional champs.
