Roundup: Huntley scores volleyball victory

Emily Westermeyer amassed 11 kills and seven digs to lead Huntley to a 25-11, 25-17 volleyball victory over Woodstock on Thursday night.

The Red Raiders improved to 5-8 on the season and also got six kills from Erin Lyman and 20 assists from Kelsey DeWulf.

Hampshire 2, Woodstock North 0

Jen Dumoulin notched 13 kills and Erin Foss added 10 kills to lead the Whip-Purs to a 25-18, 25-20 victory.

Harvest Christian 2, Luther North 0

Jordan Sollars had five kills, five assists and three aces to help lead the Lions in a 25-5, 25-8 Northeastern Athletic rout. Katelyn Floyd (seven aces), Sarah Kott (four kills) and Erica Manusos (three kills) also pitched in for Harvest Christian (14-3, 5-0).

Geneva 2, South Elgin 0

Allison Osborne had six kills and Ashley Oandasan added five for the Storm (7-5-3) in a 25-23, 25-15 UEC crossover defeat.

Addison Trail 2, Bartlett 0

Katie Hrbacek produced three kills and 17 digs for the Hawks (4-15) in a 26-24, 25-17 defeat.

Crystal Lake South 2, Jacobs 0

Alyssa Ehrhardt led the Golden Eagles (13-5, 3-2 FVC Valley) with 10 kills and five digs in a 25-19, 25-21 home loss.

Cary-Grove 2, Dundee-Crown 0

The Chargers fell 25-7, 25-16 and their record dropped to 5-8 and 0-5 in FVC Valley play.

BOYS SOCCER

Richmond-Burton 1, Burlington Central 0

Central suffered its first Big Northern East loss of the season, slipping to 9-2-2, 6-1-1 in league play. Brett Rau made six saves and Drew McMahon stopped three shots for BC.

Johnsburg 7, Hampshire 0

Andy Pederson made 21 saves for the Whip-Purs (2-8-1, 0-1 FVC).

Plainfield Central 3, Elgin 0

The Maroons fell during action at the St. Charles East tourney.

Elgin Academy 1, Lake Forest Academy 0

EA improves to 4-3-2 on a goal by freshman Armando Sanchez. Senior goalkeeper Liam Phalen had two saves.

Devon Tijerina scored a hat trick to lead the Cogs (9-4, 4-3 BNC East).

Medalist Raghav Cherala led the North Stars (9-2 5-1 UEC River) with a 1-over 37 at Bowes Creek.

Marmion 156, St. Edward 171

John Butzow’s 41 led the Green Wave at The Highlands of Elgin.

Genoa-Kingston 172, Hampshire 192

NIck Swierczynski shot a 46 to pace the Whip-Purs in a nonconference match at The Oak Club of Genoa.

Medalist Ariana Furrie shot 40 to lead North. Paige Jordan shot 41 for East.

The Red Raiders slipped to 10-4, 6-4 in the FVC.

The Hilltoppers fell in ISL action.

Hannah Zimmerman won the 500 free for North in 5:34.96.
