Roundup: Harvest Christian pounds Christian Liberty

Sydney Doby helped Harvest Christian Academy remain perfect in Northeast Athletic Conference volleyball action Thursday as the Lions defeated Christian Liberty Academy 25-13, 25-5.

Doby led the way for HCA (9-3, 4-0) with 10 kills and four aces while teammates Jordan Sollars (six kills, four assists, three aces), Katelyn Floyd (13 assists, five aces) and Erica Manusos (four kills, three aces) also contributed.

Jacobs 2, Huntley 1

Alyssa Ehrhardt had 19 kills and 12 digs to lead the Golden Eagles (13-3, 3-0) to a 27-25, 17-25, 26-24 victory. Taylor Lauder added 15 assists for Jacobs.

Metea Valley 2, Larkin 0

The Royals (8-8) fell 25-10, 25-22 and were led by Olivia Kofie (three blocks, four digs) and Brianna Stewart (eight blocks, eight digs, four kills).

Dundee-Crown 2, Woodstock North 0

The Chargers (5-6) won 25-11, 25-14 and were led by Steph Magsamen (eight kills) and Cori Eischen (17 assists).

BOYS GOLF

St. Charles North 161, Larkin 177

Raghav Cherala shot 38 to lead North (6-1, 3-1 UEC River) at Bowes Creek. Larkin was paced by Jack McCracken (42).

BOYS SOCCER

Jacobs 4, Hampshire 1

Paul Novacovici scored for the Whip-Purs (0-5-1) and Andy Pederson made six saves.

Christian Liberty 2, Harvest Christian 1

Adam Salowitz scored for HCA and it was assisted by Zach Harbaugh. Patrick McGuire had three saves in goal for us.

Genoa-Kingston 7, Marengo 0

Devon Tijerina scored three goals and Cris Camargo added two goals and three assists while Andrew Caldwell posted the shutout for the Cogs (8-3, 3-2 BNC).

Burlington Central 4, Rockford Christian 1

Bryce Warner, Matt O’Connor, Alan Camarena and Ian Graffagna scored for the Rockets (8-1-2, 5-0-1 BNC East) as they extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches.

Brett Rau made three saves and Drew McMahon made two stops in goal for Central.

GIRLS SWIMMING

St. Charles North 103.5, Waubonsie Valley 66.5

The North Stars prevailed in UEC action.
