Roundup: St. Edward rolls to volleyball victory

St. Edward’s girls volleyball team cruised to a 25-14, 25-11 Suburban Christian victory against Walther Lutheran on Thursday.
Shannon Igielski tallied six kills and six digs and Casey Gredzielski posted seven aces and six assists for the Green Wave. St. Edward (6-7, 1-0) also received contributions from Katie Swanson (four kills), Cory Kelly (four kills) and Mallory Gross (14 assists).

Tyler Brown shot a 37 to earn medalist honors and lead the Storm to victory in the Upstate Eight Valley dual match at Phillips Park.

Burlington Central takes third
The Rockets tallied 17 points at the Oregon Meet, which was good for third place behind Sterling Newman (13) and Sycamore (16).
The event featured a scoring system where runners earned points according to their finish within the flight of schools that have seven runners. Dan Morgan’s 17:29.4 marked the fastest time for Burlington Central.

The Rockets finished with 15 team points at the Oregon Meet, earning second place behind Sycamore (11).
Like the boys meet, the event featured a scoring system where runners earned points according to their finish within the flight of schools that have seven runners. Kayla Wolf’s 22:49.2 was the fastest time for Burlington Central.
