Roundup: Westminster Christian cruises to volleyball victory

Westminster Christian’s girls volleyball team maintained its unbeaten record by knocking off Kirkland Hiawatha 25-10, 25-19 on Monday.
Claire Speweik had seven kills, six digs and three aces for the Warriors. Westminster (3-0) also got big contributions from Cara Tyrrell (12 digs), Elizabeth Farwell (seven assists) and Savannah Dutcher (five kills).
Immaculate Conception d. St. Edward — Katie Swanson had five kills and four digs for the Green Wave in a 25-19, 25-17 defeat. Mallory Gross contributed three digs and 11 assists for St. Edward (3-4).
BOYS SOCCER
Elgin 7, St. Patrick 1 — Tony Escamilla scored three goals to pace the Maroons.
BOYS GOLF
St. Charles North wins triangular — Dan Shepherd’s 1-under par 35 earned medalist honors and helped propel the North Stars to victory in a triangular match on the front nine at Bowes Creek Country Club. St. Charles North compiled 149 team strokes, Lake Park was second with 173 and Glenbard West was third with 181.
Westminster Christian 178, Faith Lutheran 226 — Connor Rejman and Andrew Howard both shot 40 to pace the Warriors in a nonconference match at Woodstock Country Club. Richmond-Burton 165, St. Edward 168
