Junior ace Colin Nowak went the distance on the mound and racked up 14 strikeouts as the 16th-seeded Hawks followed up their stunning semifinal upset of top seed Geneva by toppling the eighth-seeded Lancers. The regional title is the second in program history for Bartlett (19-19) and first since 2002.
Robert Smith went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and Ryan Karrick was 2-for-3 with three RBI for the Hawks. Nowak also contributed an RBI for Bartlett, which moves on to play 13th-seeded Willowbrook in the Schaumburg Sectional on Wednesday.
