Roundup: St. Charles North volleyball advances

St. Charles North advanced to the finals of the St. Charles East Volleyball Regional by defeating the host Saints 25-23, 25-14 Tuesday night.
The fourth-seeded North Stars will take on No. 5 Schaumburg at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the finals.
Larkin Regional
The host Royals fell 25-14, 25-15 to second-seeded Lake Park. No. 15 Larkin bowed out in the semifinals after ousting rival Elgin on Monday.
Elk Grove Regional
Sixteenth-seeded Bartlett was eliminated by top-seeded Elk Grove, 25-16, 25-12.
SOFTBALL
Class 4A Cary-Grove Regional
Huntley’s season ended with a 4-0 defeat against top-seeded Cary-Grove. The Red Raiders (10-23) got a double from Randi Peterson, who accounted for one of their two hits. Haley Spannraft (8-16) took the loss.
Class 4A Bartlett Regional
The host Hawks, seeded second, whipped No. 15 Hinsdale Central 11-1 in five innings.
Class 4A Elk Grove Regional
Dundee-Crown, seeded 15th, was eliminated in a 12-0 defeat against No. 2 Elk Grove.
Class 4A Fremd Regional
Streamwood, seeded 14th, was downed 5-0 by No. 3 Fremd.
GIRLS SOCCER
Class 3A Schaumburg Sectional
Kenzie Rose and Lauren Koehl scored for St. Charles North in a 2-0 win over Geneva. Carly Dietrich made one save for the shutout for North (16-5-2).
