Canovas outlasted South Elgin’s Andre Norasith 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the singles final. The hard-fought result reflected the way things played out in the team standings as Elgin finished with 21 team points to edge the Storm, which took second with 20 points.
South Elgin’s Francis Manzano and Aayush Patel claimed the doubles championship after knocking off Dundee-Crown’s Eric Martin and Brad Spangenberg 6-2, 6-3.

Elgin’s Sadka Kethdy and Eric Chai are also in the field at the state tournament after taking third place in doubles by beating Kingsley Bernardo and Kristian Bernardo of Jacobs 5-7, 6-2, 7-5.
Dundee-Crown took third in the team standings with 16 points while Jacobs and Hampshire tied for fourth with 14 points apiece. Elgin Academy (9 points) was sixth, followed by Larkin (6), Huntley (2) and Streamwood.
