Roundup: St. Charles North falls short at Plainfield Central

St. Charles North’s football team was unable to crack into the win column Friday night as it went on the road and suffered a 14-7 loss against Plainfield Central.
It was a solid defensive showing for the North Stars in the nonconference contest, but for the second straight week the team’s offense struggled. St. Charles North (0-2) was blanked 30-0 by Hinsdale Central in its opener.

Harvest Christian 2, Schaumburg Christian 1
The Lions rallied from 1-0 halftime deficit thanks to goals from Stuart Wolff and Chris DeSouza. Jake Thome and Zach Harbaugh assisted on the tallies and goalkeeper Patrick McGuire recorded two saves for Harvest Christian (1-2-2).
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
Larkin loses three at Willowbrook Tournament
A shorthanded Larkin squad lost to Addison Trail (25-14, 25-18), West Chicago (25-8, 25-20) and Coal City (25-22, 25-14) on the first day of the Willowbrook Tournament.
Olivia Kofie had 14 digs, 13 kills and 13 assists to lead the way for the Royals. Anna Gaston added 17 kills and digs.
Larkin was without Brianna Stewart and Diana Castillo and lost Alyssa McGhee to injury during the second match of the day.
