An initial investigation indicates that at about 3:10 p.m., Sharon Schultz, 54, of the 700 block of Lancaster Lane, was driving her 2007 Harley-Davidson motorcycle east on Route 20 about 150 feet west of Switzer Road when the motorcycle left the road for an unknown reason and struck a guardrail. An Elgin man convicted of selling cocaine near a park in the city was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday. Samuel E. Span, 31, was convicted Feb. 28 of two counts unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, the Kane County State’s Attorney’s office said in a statement. Two dogs that had been left uncrated while their owners were in Wisconsin apparently did not stop a burglar from taking electronics from an Elgin apartment, police said. Emergency crews responded to a crash Wednesday afternoon near the border of Bartlett and Streamwood that involved a school bus and reportedly sent three people to an area hospital.
