Jury selection began in Joliet on Monday, July 23 in the murder trial of Drew Peterson. The former Bolingbrook police sargeant is charged with killing his third wife, Kathleen Savio, in 2004. Authorities first ruled her death an accident.
Peterson’s fourth wife, Stacy, disappeared in October 2007 and prompted investigators to review Savio’s death. Her body was exhumed and autopsied, and her death was ruled a homicide.
