Narrow-minded beliefs about gay marriage

Narrow-minded beliefs about gay marriage

I found the letter by Karen Witt (Jan. 24) regarding same-sex marriage pathetic and delusional.

When bigotry hides behind a Bible to condemn a minority, to claim that Christians are being “persecuted” because “abominable” homosexuals are striving for equality, I thank God that such views no longer hold the power they did during the dark ages of history — when gays would not be fighting for their rights, they would be fighting for their lives.

Food (choices) for thought at grocery store

Today I was at the food store buying a ton of greens (inspired by a recent Dr. Fuhrman lecture), and the cashier says, “You’re a vegetarian?”

I look up and nod.

“You don’t have any meat.”

“Gee,” I say, “I’ll bet you tell a lot about people by what they buy. You notice something else I bought a lot of?”

She shrugs

“Macaroni and cheese. What does that say?”

She shrugs.

“Kids!” I smile.

“But you bought the Annie kind.” she says

“Whole grain,” I reply.

She looks down shakes her head, “Poor kids.”
