Rep. Joe Walsh’s comments on Islam making America less safe

Rep. Joe Walsh’s comments on Islam making America less safe

Because of people like U.S. Rep. Joe Walsh, America is becoming a very unsafe place to live.

Comments made by Walsh are causing anxiety among law-abiding citizens of the United States. Only hours after tea party-backed Walsh, R-McHenry, released a statement warning that radical Islam was trying to “kill Americans,” police say that shots from a “high-velocity air rifle” narrowly missed a security guard at the Muslim Education Center near Chicago while about 500 Muslims prayed inside during Ramadan services.

According to a statement from the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the FBI was investigating a possible hate crime after David Conrad was arrested for firing at least two shots into the mosque. A press release from Morton Grove police said that off-duty police officers working as security guards saw someone firing shots from Conrad’s home. The release indicated that a high-velocity air rifle had been confiscated from the home.

Security guards told police that there had also been “a number” of other incidents of mosque damage that had not been reported. Politicians like Walsh are playing with American emotions. The Wisconsin massacre is one of the biggest examples of hate and anger crimes against religion that resulted in the killing of innocent human beings. It was a wrong judgment and a misunderstanding of different religions on the part of the killer. The Sikh religion is a different religion and has different beliefs from Islam.

I am a product of Elgin, I have been living in Elgin for over 20 years. My family is always involved in city affairs, and we work hard in developing the city of Elgin to be a better place to live. I am highly regarded by many Elgin residents. The mayor of Elgin, city manager, and the elected officials all appreciate my contributions. I am proud to be living in Elgin. It is home for me. A large number of Muslims have lived in Elgin for a very long time. The majority of Muslims in Elgin are highly educated and conservative. They believe in family values, respect their neighbors, and help each other in times of sadness and joy.

Walsh’s remarks about Islam are very insulting to the Muslims of Elgin. I would like Walsh to come to Elgin and give us all the information and indications he has about the terrorists living in Elgin so we can catch them before they can commit a criminal act. I would like to prove to him that there are no Muslims involved in any kind of criminal act in Elgin. Walsh and his Republican tea party are trying to divide Americans by religion, color and race, and are making everyone anxious and fearful. Americans should reject people like Walsh.

Rep. Joe Walsh should apologize to the people of Elgin for his baseless comments.
