Immigration issues: Let’s get this right. President Obama has decided that illegal immigrant kids do not need to be deported. But in the over three years he’s been in office, he hasn’t changed any immigration laws. Now in an election year, he decided he can ignore our immigration laws. It’s funny how that works. I wonder if we could choose which laws to follow and which ones to ignore. It’s ridiculous what goes on in this country.

Follow Aurora’s example: Seeing Aurora crack down on tinted vehicle windows, it’s about time that Elgin did the same thing. I find it hard to tell what drivers are doing or where they are looking if they have tinted windows. It’s dangerous. Crack down on tinted windows in Elgin.

Comment on Brunton: Regarding the article on Mr. Brunton, the former Elgin city manager, it didn’t mention anything about the downtown river deck parking situation and when they closed off the downtown and tried to make it a mall. I don’t remember if it was during his tenure or not. If it was, why was it left out of the story? We know what a nightmare that both of those issues became.

Focus on Elgin: Regarding a Speak Out, why are people worried about what’s going on in Chicago when there are things that have to be taken care of in Elgin? Let’s get back on track. Let’s keep our own stuff in our own Speak Out. This thing about Chicago teachers, who cares? That’s their problem, not ours. Don’t get School District U46 teachers mixed up with Chicago teachers.

Buy American: Our state is going broke and Elgin is broke, yet all the immigrants are buying foreign cars. Fifty-three percent of our cars are foreign. If people want to bring our country back, buy American. The foreign cars are cheap copies of American cars. American-made is better. The best thing for America is to support America and not Japan, Germany or Korea. Immigrants, if you don’t like American products, immigrate to Korea, Germany or Japan. You will not be received there like you are received here. You come here with our arms open to you so you can become American, but you’re destroying our economy and making us a Third World country.
