Not sold on stickers: To the person who wants Elgin vehicle stickers re-established, I’m not for it for several reasons. The first reason is that people with multiple vehicles generally ignore buying stickers. The money collected from people who do pay for them ends up being spent to go after those that don’t. There are administrative costs involved with stickers such as the cost to print them and the cost to handle the selling and recording of them. If we need additional revenue, I’d much rather see each household held responsible for fees through regular billing so everyone pays something instead of a hit-or-miss operation, such as vehicle stickers.
Puzzled about Pakistan: I read that Sen. Dick Durbin thinks that $30 million should be withheld from Pakistan, the country that once harbored Osama bin Laden. Why are we giving any money at all and for what reason? Is Mrs. Clinton trying to make herself and President Obama look good by giving all the money we don’t have and borrow from China to all these Asian countries that take our money and laugh behind our backs? Tell the reason why this is happening to the little taxpayer who has lost his job and his house and feeds his family on charity.
Stop the leaks: I wonder if anyone in our Justice Department is going to go after the Washington people who have leaked sensitive information recently. We have people in Washington, our own leaders, who are leaking very important information. I wonder if any of them will ever spend a day in jail.
