Pursue a perfect world: Wouldn’t it be nice if the government was honest with its citizens? Wouldn’t it be nice if CEOs were truthful with their employees? Wouldn’t it be nice if banks were honest with their customers and investors? Wouldn’t it be nice if drug trafficking and illegal entry into the United States could be controlled? Yes, we could live in the most beautiful country if only all the greed would stop. We are facing an election soon. Maybe there are issues that should be addressed.

Taking a stand for hot dog stands: I’m calling about the city of Elgin shutting down a hot dog stand at Home Depot. Everyone I’ve talked to enjoyed it. Elgin supposedly shut it down for health reasons. I go over to Habitat, and in the parking lot, Mexicans are selling cooked food. Nobody has died from it. I don’t understand why Elgin can’t get its act together and stop hurting things people enjoy. If they are worried about sanitation, there are some restaurants that are pretty unsanitary. Other Home Depots have hot dog stands. I don’t know why Elgin stuck their nose in and closed it.

Plane trip prices: I’m trying to figure out why airlines need to advertise their prices including taxes when nobody else does. The car dealers and grocery stores don’t advertise their merchandise with taxes. Why do the airlines have to add their fees? Are we so stupid that we can’t figure out what amount will come to?

Tollway is not the way to go: I read with great interest that Illinois may be converting Route 53 and the Elgin/O’Hare expressway into a toll road. That’s Illinois in its finest hour. Maybe we need Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in this state. Look at Indiana. They’re in the black. I think a lot of people will be heading out of Illinois unless we do something.

Hope roadwork is worth it: For all the money they are wasting on this (Route) 20/McLean Boulevard project and the traffic headaches they’re creating, traffic better flow when they’re done. That’s all I’ve got to say.
