Police said that on June 14, they investigated a report of an armed robbery that allegedly had occurred about 6 p.m. in the 300 block of South Main Street. Bieschke reported he had finished withdrawing money from an outside automated teller machine when he was confronted by a man and woman who said their vehicle had broken down in the area of Stearns and South Bartlett roads. Police said Bieschke told them he was giving the two a ride back to their disabled vehicle when the man struck him on the head with a gun and stole his money. But police said they have determined that the robbery never really occurred. Bieschke was released on a $1,500 personal recognizance bond pending an Aug. 2 court date in Cook County.
