False 911 calls charge

Elgin

Fake 911 call: Devonte M. Eaton, 19, of the 1400 block of Meyer Street, Elgin, was charged with felony counts of making a false 911 call and violation of an order of protection following an incident Sunday. According to police, he called 911 and reported hearing shots fired — at the apartment where the subject of the order of protection lived — when there was no such incident and thus violating the order. He was held without bond and given a July 11 court date.

Pot possession: Raymond R. Sumner, 18, of the 400 block of Center Street, Elgin, was charged with of a felony count of manufacture or delivery of cannabis following his arrest Sunday. Bail was set at $20,000, and he was given an July 20 court date.

Felony retail theft: Sequanda N. Haugabook, 34, of the 200 block of Gifford Street, Elgin, was charged with a felony count of retail theft following her arrest Monday. She is accused of taking items valued at $13 from Butera Market, Clock Tower Plaza, after having previously been convicted of burglary. Bail was set at $20,000, and she was given a July 11 court date.

Carpentersville

DUI felony: Dario Sanchez, 28, of the 2000 block of Berkshire Circle, Carpentersville, was charged with two counts of felony driving under the influence following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning. Bail was set at $30,000, and he was given a July 5 court date.
