Man accused of child sex assault

Child abuse: David C. Montes, 33, of the 200 block of Silver Court, Elgin, was charged with Class X felony charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child under the age of 13, and Class 2 felony charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a child. Bail was set Wednesday at $1 million, and he was given a March 7 court date. Police said Montes was arrested Tuesday and is accused of sexual contact with three juveniles under the age of 13.

South Elgin

Home invasion: Alexander W. Marino, 21, of the 1000 block of Kane Street, South Elgin, was charged with home invasion, a Class X felony, and misdemeanor counts of battery following an incident early Wednesday. Bail was set at $800,000, and he was given a March 7 court date. Further details were unavailable Wednesday.
