Bicyclist rescued from ice in Streamwood

Ice rescue: The Streamwood Fire Department’s diving team rescued a person who fell through ice while riding a bicycle near Glenbrook School in Streamwood at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Further details were unavailable.

Girl in serious condition: A 12-year-old girl was in serious condition Monday night after being hit by a car while running across State Street at Kimball Street. The accident occurred at 7:08 p.m. and the girl was taken to Provena Saint Joseph Hospital. According to Lt. Glenn Theriault, the girl had serious head injuries. Officials were talking to the driver of the car involved, and it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, he added.

Engagement ring missing: A Lake in the Hills woman, 29, reported to police that she mislaid her engagement ring at the Burnt Toast restaurant, 2492 N. Randall Road, on Sunday afternoon. She took the ring off her finger in the restroom and left it behind accidentally. The ring was not found.

Hampshire

Rollover on tollway: Paramedics from the Hampshire Fire Protection District responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash on I-90 near mile marker 41 at 3:15 p.m. Monday. Fire Capt. Trevor Herrmann said one person was extricated from the vehicle and transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.
