Mirrors targeted by vandal/thief

Doesn’t like mirrors?: A 31-year-old woman who lives in the 500 block of Locust Street told police someone stole both side mirrors off her 2008 Mercedes-Benz car and broke one of the side mirrors off her 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck. The theft and vandalism took place between 1 and 9 a.m. on Sunday while the vehicles were parked in her driveway, and the woman said she had no idea who would want to do that.

Illegal lying: Police said Gene A. Carlson, a homeless 50-year-old man, was charged with trespassing at 5 p.m. Sunday after he was found lying on the ground outside the Butera Market at 71 Clock Tower Plaza. Store officials said Carlson previously had been banned from the property. He later was released on his own recognizance pending a March 3 court hearing.
