No serious injuries in three-vehicle rollover crash in Elgin

Car flips: One of three cars involved in a crash Monday morning at State Street and East Highland Avenue rolled onto its roof, but all three drivers declined to be taken to hospitals after being treated by paramedics, according to authorities. Police said a car driven by Anthony B. Bressan, 30, was westbound on Highland when it was struck on the side at about 10:06 a.m. by two cars southbound on State Street (Route 31), driven by 34-year-old Jason M. Hayes and 18-year-old Angel Marquez Jr. Bressan was cited with disobeying a red light.

Public works hit: David Christensen of the Elgin Public Works Department told police that while his personal sport utility vehicle was parked in the public works department parking lot at 1900 Holmes Road last weekend, someone cut the catalytic converter off its underside, also damaging the gas line.

Truck egged: An 18-year-old man who lives in the 100 block of Pauline Drive told police that someone egged his pickup truck’s windshield, roof, hood, door and rails while it was parked outside his home the night of Jan. 29-30.

Direct-ly defrauded: A 28-year-old Elgin woman told police that someone using her name and Social Security number tried to open a DIRECTV account for a house on Maple Street in Elgin, and that she also has started receiving bills for another DIRECTV account for a home in Chicago.
