ELGIN — Criminal charges are pendig as the Illinois State Police investigate a one-car crash that killed a 24-year-old South Elgin man and injured three Carpentersville residents on eastbound I-90 between Huntley and Elgin Thursday evening.
State Police Sgt. Kulio Serrano said a 2006 Toyota driven by one of the Carpentersville people overturned at 7:14 p.m., throwing the South Elgin man out of the car and killing him. The three survivors were taken to Sherman Hospital in Elgin with non-life-threatening injuries, said Serrano.
The identities of the victims were being withheld pending action by the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Ofice, he said.
