ELGIN — People will have the chance to share their thoughts with Mayor David Kaptain during monthly Community Listening Sessions, the first of which is set for 7 p.m. Monday at Sherman Hospital, 1425 N. Randall Road, in the lake-level meeting rooms.
In addition to chatting with Kaptain in person, these sessions will have an online component.
Web participants should head to the city’s site, www.cityofelgin.org, where a link on the home page will direct them to a page from which comments and questions can be sent to Kaptain.
These sessions are intended to provide a forum to discuss policy issues that will shape Elgin. General topics covered will be what the city should start doing, what the city should stop doing, and what things the city should continue to do.
Kaptain is set to attend a neighborhood meeting at 7 p.m. July 11 at Calvary Baptist Church, 551 Arlington Ave.. He will host the second conversation plus online chat at 7 p.m. July 25 at Gail Borden Public Library, Rakow Branch, 2751 W. Bowes Road.
