BURLINGTON — The village board this week unanimously approved an agreement with Kane County to borrow money through the federal stimulus fund program to replace the water main on North Main Street.
According to village officials, the estimated cost of the project is $65,575. The county will issue the bonds, which will be sold after January. The village will pay back the sum with two fixed payments twice a year for a period of 10 years.
In other news, village Clerk Mary Ann Wilkison won an award for serving as president of the Northwestern Illinois Municipal Clerks Association from 2009 to 2010. Wilkison said she received the award last week.
