McHenry Co. drug bust yields heroin, cocaine, pot and cash

LAKE IN THE HILLS — About $2,400 worth of cocaine, heroin and marijuana were seized along with $1,400 in cash when federal agents and McHenry County authorities raided a home here Wednesday, police said.
Two Lake in the Hills residents were arrested on drug charges during the raid, which culminated an investigation into heroin and crack cocaine sales in the area, according to the sheriff’s office.
The U.S. Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, Lake in the Hills police and county sheriff’s deputies executed the search warrant at the home at 104 Quail Run in Lake in the Hills, a statement from the sheriff’s office said.
About 3 grams of crack cocaine, 24 grams of cannabis and 9 grams of heroin were seized, along with two digital scales, packaging materials and drug paraphernalia, according to police. A 2004 Chevrolet Impala and $1,400 in cash also were seized. The drugs had an estimated street value of $2,415, according to the sheriff’s office.
William Harris, 33, and Michael Thomas, 32, both of the Quail Run address, face 10 felony drug charges each, including possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver within 1,000 feet of a park, possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
Both were held on $300,000 bail and are to appear in court May 1 in Woodstock.
