Library disruption: Orlando S. Beville, 43, of the 1700 block of Berkley Street, Elgin, was charged with misdemeanor counts of criminal trespass to land and disorderly conduct following an incident Tuesday at the Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. Police said officers were called to the library at 6:45 p.m. by security personnel. Beville began shouting obscenities in the computer lab and refused to leave when security asked him to do so, they said. Bail was set at $5,000, and he was given a Feb. 21 court date in Elgin branch court.
One vehicle stolen: A resident in the 500 block of Hawkins Street reported to police Tuesday his 1993 Plymouth Voyager van was stolen from in front of his home on Monday. He had waited to make the report, he told officers, while calling tow companies to see if the van had been removed. Police found no broken glass at the scene, and the owner said he had the only keys to the vehicle.
Another vehicle found: Police were called to the 200 block of Pauline Drive at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday on a report of a recovered stolen vehicle. The 2007 Dodge Dakota pickup truck had been reported stolen out of Princeton, police said. The Pauline Drive resident who called police said the truck was his father’s, and the suspect was his children’s mother. Identified as Bethanie Irwin, 34, of Elgin, she was arrested on outstanding warrants, police said.
