ELGIN — Due to severe weather conditions in New York, the performance of Robert Klein as well as its pre-show dinner originally set for Saturday at the Elgin Community College Arts Center have been postponed, ECC announced Friday.
The show, , a co-presentation with Congregation Kneseth Israel, has been rescheduled to Sunday, April 21 at 7 p.m. The pre-show dinner will be held at 5 p.m. that day.
New York City, where Klein lives, was experiencing severe winter weather and bracing for a blizzard Friday. Thousands of flights, including Klein’s, were cancelled on the East Coast.
“Robert Klein’s management made all reasonable attempts to try to get him here early to avoid the storm but the increasing flight cancellations made this impossible,” said Steve Duchrow, the Arts Center’s director of performing arts. “The most important thing is safety. We are keeping Robert, his family and the East coast in our thoughts during this time.”
Duchrow said patrons are being contacted by the Arts Center regarding their ticket purchases. Patrons with questions may call the ECC Arts Center box office at 847-622-0300 or visit the box office, in Building H, at 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. Box office hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
