Bartlett woman charged after injury to infant

Charge in infant injury: Asia Levels, 19, of the 900 block of Bartlett Road, Bartlett, was charged Friday with a Class X felony count of aggravated battery and a misdemeanor count of battery following a Dec. 27 incident. According to police, Bartlett officers responded that day to a youth group home located at 951 Bartlett Road to investigate a disturbance involving an injured 2-week-old baby. During the investigation, Levels had a verbal altercation with an 18-year-old female resident who was sitting down with her baby. Levels is accused of grabbing the 18-year-old female resident and throwing her to the ground, causing the baby to suffer a head injury. The baby was transported to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates by the Bartlett Fire Protection District. Bail was set at $75,000, and she was given a Feb. 7 court date.
