C’ville woman accused of kicking, fighting police

Aggravated battery: Rashida Thompson, 26, of the 100 block of Austin Avenue, Carpentersville, was charged with a felony count of battery and misdemeanor counts of battery and resisting or obstructing a police officer. Thompson is accused of kicking an officer in the groin and fighting with police who were attempting to arrest she during a domestic violence complaint Thursday. Bail was set at $10,000, and she was given a Jan. 4 court date.
St. Charles
Garage fire: The St. Charles Fire Department responded to a garage fire at 202 S. Sixth St. on Friday morning. Firefighters arrived at 5:20 a.m. and found a two-car garage well involved in flames, authorities said, and two vehicles in the driveway also were on fire. Firefighters said were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes. The cause of the fire was being investigated. There were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $35,000.
