Elgin man faces felony DUI charge

Felony DUI: Juan M. Rios, 27, of the 500 block of Park Street, Elgin, was charged with a felony count of aggravated driving under the influence and misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence and no valid drivers license following a traffic stop early Thursday. Bail was set at $25,000, and he was given a Jan. 2 court date.

Retail theft charged: Natalie G. Garcia, 17, of Rockford, was charged with a felony count of retail theft. She is accused of shoplifting more than $300 in merchandise from the Sears at Spring Hill Mall on Wednesday. Bail was set at $30,000, and she was given a Jan. 2 court date.
