St. Charles North High School has announced the sixth-annual Veterans Day Concert saluting veterans, men and women of the armed forces, their families and friends.
This free concert pays tribute to all veterans’ service to this country. For students it emphasizes the importance of the day, enabling them to honor military veterans for giving us the freedom to live and believe as we choose. In recognition of the importance this event has in our community, the St. Charles Youth Commission has contributed to the continuing success of this annual concert.
Musical selections will feature great marches by John Philip Sousa, the “Armed Forces Medley,” “Stars and Stripes Forever” and other patriotic tunes played by North’s award-winning music students. Songs from each branch of the armed forces will be played to recognize those veterans present. Special guest master of ceremonies is WGN’s Orion Samuelson.
Veterans are encouraged to register for free tickets at http://vets2012.eventbrite.com/ before Oct. 30. The general public may register for tickets after Nov. 1.
Space is limited, and past performances have sold out. Priority ticketing and seating will be given to those who have served our country. Call 331-228-6416.
