Carpentersville man accused of aggravated DUI

DUI bond: Derek J. Brylski, 40, of the 1500 block of Meadowsedge Lane, Carpentersville, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, after being accused of driving under the influence for the fourth time, police said. An officer reported stopping Brylski for driving the wrong way on Highland Avenue near State Street, toward the officer’s squad car, at 2:05 p.m. Thursday. Bail was set at $75,000, and he was given a Sept. 12 court date.

Mugged for phone: An Elgin man reported that he was attacked and knocked out by a man and a woman at about 1:30 a.m. Monday outside his home in the 700 block of Congdon Avenue. When he awoke about a half-hour later, his Motorola phone was missing. The victim said he did not know the two and that they had walked up to him as he stood outside smoking.

Laptop, TV taken: A resident in the 800 block of Bode Road told police his home was burglarized about 2:10 p.m. Monday. According to the victim, he had left to pick up his son from school and when he returned, he discovered a screen window had been cut and the back screen door was unlocked. Reported missing from the home were a laptop computer and 32-inch flat screen TV.
