ELGIN - A parolee, identified by a distinctive tattoo on his forehead, was arrested soon after a robbery Monday in Elgin.

Elgin police responded at 2:26 p.m. to State and Morgan streets for a report of a person being robbed at gunpoint.

The suspect, described as having a distinctive tattoo of a crown on his forehead, fled north on foot, police said.

Based upon a description of the suspect, police found him within minutes in an alley near 217 Oak St., just west of State, according to police. He was positively identified by the victim.
