CARYVILLE, Tenn. — Police say a north suburban Chicago woman won’t be charged for abandoning her 19-year-old daughter, who has mental disabilities, at a bar in East Tennessee last month. Lynn Cameron was found at a bar in Caryville on June 28. Caryville Assistant Police Chief Stephanie Smith said the teenager has a limited vocabulary and couldn’t provide her name or address. Smith said the woman’s mother, Eva Cameron, of Algonquin, returned to Tennessee on Tuesday and told the police that she left her daughter because “she couldn’t handle her anymore.” Smith said Eva Cameron won’t be criminally charged because her daughter is over 18 years old and her mother is not her legal guardian. The teenager is now in state custody.
