Motorist hospitalized after I-90 crash near Hampshire

Crash on tollway near Hampshire: One person was seriously injured Monday morning in a crash between a car and a semi-trailer truck on Interstate 90 near Hampshire, officials said. Deputy Chief Trevor Herrmann of Hampshire Fire Protection District said the crash occurred about 7:25 a.m. One person was extricated from the car and flown out by helicopter to a Rockford hospital, he said. The tollway was shut down for about 30 minutes, and the Illinois State Police were investigating the crash.

Obstruction charged: Patrick E. Richardson Jr., 18, of Chicago, was charged with two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing a police officer following an incident early Monday in Elgin. Bail was set at $3,000, and he was given a June 25 court date.
Battery and resisting charged: Gregory L. Anthony, 42, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of battery and resisting or obstructing a police officer, all misdemeanors, following an incident Sunday. Bail was set at $15,000, and he was given a June 28 court date.
