11-year-old boy dies after ATV rollover

BARTLETT — An 11-year-old Bloomingdale boy died Thursday after an ATV accident in Bartlett.
Battalion Chief Ralph DeFreece of the Bartlett Fire Protection District said Samuel Sloan was struck by an ATV driven by a relative but wasn’t riding the ATV himself.
The accident happened in the 300 block of Apple Tree Lane in Bartlett.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Sloan was taken to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, then helicoptered to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 9:10 p.m.
