A man riding a bicycle fell through the ice of a pond Monday in northwest suburban Streamwood.
The 43-year-old man was riding a bicycle in Glenbrook Park at 316 Garden Circle in Streamwood when he fell through the ice of a retention pond at 3:45 p.m., Streamwood police Cmdr. Ed Valente said.
Children playing nearby noticed the accident and called police, who arrived “in a matter of minutes,” Valente said.
The man was conscious and speaking to paramedics when he was taken in good condition to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates.
