Police were searching for a person who shot a man in the back of the head during a confrontation early Sunday at the Cadillac Ranch dance club, 1175 W. Lake St. The victim, in his early 20s but not identified by police, was listed in stable condition Sunday afternoon at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, police said. According to a release by police Cmdr. Michael McGuigan, officers were called to the club at 3 a.m. and found a male black with a single gunshot wound to the back of his head, police said. The victim received a second head injury when he fell to the ground, according to the release. Paramedics treated the man, who later was taken by a Flight for Life helicopter to Lutheran General in critical condition, McGuigan said. “Witnesses said it appeared the victim was arguing with someone in the foyer of the Cadillac Ranch at the time of the shooting,” he said, but no description or identification was provided by police. The bar closes at 4 a.m., McGuigan noted. Police do not know the nature of the argument and do not have anyone in custody. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the police department’s investigations unit at 630-837-0846.
