Gail Borden library book sale gets underway Thursday

ELGIN — The Gail Borden Public Library Foundation’s annual book sale will take place Thursday through Sunday at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave.

Thousands of used books, videos, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and more will be for sale. Most books will be priced at $2 for hardcover and $1 for paperback, with some collectibles priced higher.

Books for adults, teens and children will be for sale in all genres.

Children’s picture books as well as fiction and nonfiction materials will be for sale.

Adults will be able to select from cookbooks, biographies, romances, mysteries, science fiction, Westerns and coffee table books.

Visitors to the sale can enter a drawing for a chance to win an iPad Mini.

Friends of the Foundation will be able to take advantage of early-bird shopping and be the first to shop from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Membership is $25 for individuals and $50 for families. To become a member, go to www.gailborden.info/booksale or sign up at the door Thursday evening.

The book sale also will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
