Bartlett: Womans Club sets February meeting
The monthly Bartlett Womans Club meeting will have a potluck party at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at the Bartlett Log Cabin, 102 N. Eastern Ave., followed with the general meeting. Bartlett Woman’s Club membership is for women 18 and older and sponsors many social and philanthropic events, including Annual Senior Citizen’s Lunch, Holiday Cookie Bake, Lunch with the Easter Bunny (March 23), Spring Scholarship Fashion Show (April 21), monthly Dinner Out, Bunco club, monthly First Tuesday Meetings at the Log Cabin with guest speakers, and more. Kane County: Employee earns management award
John Guddendorf, Senior Construction Engineer of Kane County Division of Transportation was awarded with the 2013 Professional Manager of the Year Award in Public Right-of-Way, from the American Public Works Association. The award seeks to inspire excellence and dedication by recognizing the outstanding career service achievement of public right-of-way management professionals. Guddendorf was recognized as an individual with excellent relationships with construction, engineering and utility companies and a person who has had extraordinary success with resolving utility conflicts and completing construction projects in a timely fashion.
Guddendorf has 34 years of experience working for the Kane County. In 1998 he was chosen to lead the newly created permit department as the Permit Administrator. Under his leadership in 2000, the Kane Permit Activity Service System (KPASS) software was activated and allowed the department to track the permitting activity for access, utility and moving permits. John served as Permit Administer until 2006 when he returned to the Construction Department to oversee capital and permit construction projects.
