Immanuel Lutheran plans finale for 150th anniversary events

Updated: February 19, 2013 1:35PM

Immanuel Lutheran Church of East Dundee will be worshipping at 6 p.m. Saturday and at 8 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. Immanuel culminates its 150th Anniversary Celebration this weekend, with the Rev. John Messmann as guest preacher. Messmann, senior pastor at St. Paul’s in Fort Worth, Texas, was a pastor at Immanuel in 1984, and his message this weekend serves as the finale of Immanuel’s 15-month celebration of its church and school ministry — serving the Fox River Valley since 1862. Special music will be part of the worship at all three services, and Communion will be served at the Sunday 8 a.m. service.

On Wednesday, Pastor Gregg Bowen shares the message for Immanuel’s informal “Piano, Prayer and Preaching worship” at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Immanuel is a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and is at the corner of Main Street (Route 72) and Van Buren in East Dundee, two blocks east of the Fox River. If you have any questions, call William Gade, director of music and worship, at 847-428-4477 or visit Immanuel at www.immanuel-ed.org to see what is new in worship, listen to or download recent sermons, find out what is happening at the church or in its dayschool program, or send a question or comment that might allow us to better connect with you.
