West Dundee: Intro to
writing children’s books
Is there a great children’s book inside of you just waiting to be written? An overview of the process from first words to art to publisher’s considerations — followed by an extended Q&A period — will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Barnes & Noble store in Spring Hill Mall. The session will be led by local author and educator Laura Crawford. Crawford has written nine books, is a literacy specialist at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School in Sleepy Hollow, and leader of a local chapter of the Illinois Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators. This free event will take about two hours, and reservations are strongly encouraged. Educators will be given 2 CPDU credits for attending. Call 847-426-5614 or email crm2185@bn.com for a reservation. Barnes & Noble is located at 1468 Spring Hill Mall Blvd., West Dundee.
