Streamwood teen in National American Miss Illinois event

STREAMWOOD — Arielle Christopher, 13, of Streamwood has been chosen as a state finalist in the National American Miss Illinois Pageant to be held Sept. 1-3 at Pheasant Run Resort, 4051 E. Main St. (Route 64), St. Charles.

The National American Miss pageant has five age divisions for girls ages 4 through 18. Arielle will be competing in the Pre-Teen age division.

Arielle’s platform is to support the needs of children suffering from financial and medical hardships.

Each contestant is required to compete in four areas of pageant competition. A panel of judges will score each contestant in formal wear, interview, personal introduction, and community involvement.

The winner of the Pre-Teen Pageant will receive a $1,000 cash award, official state crown, banner, trophy, bouquet of roses, an authentic modeling scholarship, their entry fee paid to the National Pageant, air transportation to compete in the National Pageant, a complimentary tour of Hollywood, and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.

Arielle describes herself as a dedicated goodwill ambassador. She is a member of the Alexian Brothers Youth Board and has volunteered at several projects in the area such as Chili’s Donate Profit Days, IHOP’s National Pancake Day, and Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day.

National American Miss is a scholarship pageant system dedicated to encouraging America’s future leaders and equipping them with life-long skills. The pageant system states that it is based on inner beauty, as well as poise and presentation, and offers an “All-American spirit of fun for family and friends.”

The pageant recognizes the accomplishments of each girl and places emphasis on developing self-confidence, good sportsmanship, and how to set and achieve personal goals.

National American Miss Pageants, a division of Spirit Productions Inc., is based in Houston, Texas.
