Carpentersville: Raceway Woods construction set
Part of Raceway Woods Forest Preserve in Carpentersville will be closed Aug. 17 to Sept. 15 for construction of a new, natural-surface trail. The mile-long trail will be open to the public and will be suitable for walking, hiking and mountain biking. The trail will be built by volunteers from the Chicago Area Mountain Bikers (CAMBr) under supervision by the Forest Preserve District of Kane County. This new trail area will be off-limits to the public while the work is completed, but it will not affect any of the current asphalt trail system at Raceway Woods. More information is available from the forest district at 630-232-5980.
