Sound the alarm. Things are heating up at Naperville’s Ribfest.
Firefighter and country music star Billy Croft & The 5 Alarm band are making their Ribfest debut at noon Monday on the Navistar Main Stage. The country crooner, whose band released its debut CD “Billy Croft” last year, can’t wait to entertain Ribfest concertgoers.
“We were really excited when we found out,” said Croft, a native of St. Charles. “Audiences can expect to hear great country music, many songs they know along with some of our originals.”
Croft said it’s been an “unbelievable ride this year” for the band, who began playing together in 2009.
“We are well past what we did last year already as far as gigs go,” the singer/songwriter said.
“We have had a lot of opportunities, and it’s been really fantastic.”
Along with Ribfest, Billy Croft & The 5 Alarm are set to play many summer festivals, including Taste of Chicago and the DuPage County Fair.
“People are really pulling for us, and it is such a great feeling,” Croft said. “We hope they come out to the show.”
