Blizzard Bee a test of knowledge

Team Phyllis made up of Stu Ainsworth from the Elgin Youth Symphony Organization, Dr. David Sam, President of Elgin Community College and Nancy Burnidge of the YWCA edged out Team Harry in the library's Blizzard Bee on June 7 answering correctly on many Harry Blizzard questions that covered his first job pumping gas in Iowa to using millions of stakes in surveying for I90 and O'Hare Airport. Both Team Phyllis and Team Harry, made up of Dick Long from the First Methodist Church, Liz Marston form the Elgin Area Historical Society and Dr. Jerry Cain, President of Judson University, got the "what is best gift for this Father's Day?" question right answering, attending the Blizzard Bash, a concert performed by Rich Ridenour and Brandon Ridenour on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 17, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the Visual Performing Arts Center/Blizzard Theatre at Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive in Elgin. Harry and Phyllis Blizzard were recently honored at Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin with a special trivia contest.
Team Phyllis — made up of Stu Ainsworth from the Elgin Youth Symphony Organization, Elgin Community College President David Sam, and Nancy Burnidge of the YWCA — edged out Team Harry in the library’s Blizzard Bee on June 7, answering correctly on many Harry Blizzard questions that covered his first job pumping gas in Iowa to using millions of stakes in surveying for I-90 and O’Hare International Airport.
