Arts in Bartlett will stage its summer play “Heaven” this weekend.
Written and directed by AiB Adult Theatre veteran Russ Devereaux, “Heaven” will be performed at 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the Nature Center auditorium at James “Pate” Philip State Park, 2054 W. Stearns Road, Bartlett.
This comedy follows normal guy Archie Bolder, who is instantly ripped from his mundane life on Earth, only to be tossed through the pearly gates. As Archie stumbles through Heaven’s admission process, he encounters an assortment of unexpected characters including his very own Afterlife Concierge Cynthia, Peter the Moral Auditor, a disgruntled DMV attendant, and the King himself. Arts in Bartlett invites the public to follow Archie as he pursues eternal peace in the most peaceful of places.
The cast includes Galen Malick, Katie Batt, Brianne Durfey, Debbie Fowler, Rita Lopienski, Dean Pearson and Scott Surowiecki.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at www.artsinbartlett.org, by calling 630-372-4152 or by visiting the Arts Center at 118 W. Bartlett Ave., No. 2.
Music will be performed by Mike O’Cull before the play; the audience is invited to stay afterward to meet the actors and enjoy free refreshments.
