Hampshire: Zion United begins summer schedule
The Zion United Methodist Church of Hampshire summer worship schedule will take effect at 9:30 a.m. Sunday. All are welcome. A nursery is available for the little ones. This Sunday schedule will continue until after Labor Day. The congregation will be represented at the 173rd annual meeting of the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church by Susan Lafferty and Pastor Diana K. Otterbacher on June 6-9 in St. Charles. Following a successful fundraiser, the Zion Middle School Youth Group will travel to Aurora on June 7 to pack life-saving meals for Feed My Starving Children. West Dundee: VBS planned at First Congregational
First Congregational Church of Dundee invites families to Sky: Everything is Possible with God (Mark 10:27)! The adventure begins June 11 and continues through June 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and dig into yummy treats, experience electrifying Bible adventures, collect Bible Memory Buddies to remind them to trust God, and test out Sciency-Fun Gizmos they’ll take home and play with all summer long. Plus, kids will learn to look for evidence of God all around them through something called God Sightings. Vacation Bible School is for children age 3 through fifth grade. Kids should sign up for the grade they are entering. Walk-in registrants will be charged $35 per child, or $80 for families of three or more. The church is at 900 S. St. Charles: Youth Bell Choir to perform at Baker
Baker Memorial United Methodist Church in St. Charles will host the Wesley Bell Ringers, a youth bell choir from Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 12. The 33 members, all high-schoolers, will play their nearly 200 precision-tuned handbells in a concert that will start at 7:30 p.m. at the church, 307 Cedar Ave. The concert is free, although an offering will be taken. St. Charles: Rummage sale at Hosanna! Lutheran
Hosanna! Lutheran Church will be having its fourth-annual rummage sale on from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 8 and 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 9. Items for sale will include household goods, tools, electronics, outdoor items, small appliances, books and toys. All sales proceeds will benefit the homeless shelter Lazarus House in St. Charles and the Hosanna! Church Community Care Center Pantry helping needy families in our area. Donations will be accepted (no large appliances or furniture, please) from 3:30 to 5 p.m. June 2 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 3.
