Genoa: Genoa’s Open Air Markets begin May 26

If space reservations are any indication, Genoa can look forward to a great season for its Open Air Markets. The markets are returning for the fifth year at the corner of Main and Genoa streets. They are held the fourth Saturday of every month beginning May 26 and running through October. Vendors benefit from the prime location on Route 72, which generates more than 10,000 cars passing by the market on an average day. The markets are an opportunity for farmers, home-based businesses, nonprofits or individuals to reach the public. Fees remain the same as last year at $10 for fresh produce and non-profit organizations, and $20 for everyone else. Reserve a space for five markets, and the sixth market is free. Tents can be rented for $10 per market. Reservations can be made online at genoamainstreet.org. Another option is to email the Main Street office at genoamainstreet@atcyber.net or call 815-784-6961 to have a reservation form sent to you.
